HiBird Books is a book design studio and an independent publishing house, specialising in interactive books, special editions, artists’ book, picture books and kids magazine.
Eye for Detail
We believe that a book can create its own world. All book dimensions are important to us: the shape of a letter, the rhythm of a text and illustrations, the weight of a paper, the colour of a stitch, the type of binding and the space, which the book creates as a 3D object.

Dialogue
We love to play with the content and form. We always do analytical and intuitive artists research, handmade prototypes and we are also testing user experience. We search for a dialogue of different materials, media and skills to encourage user interaction.

Eco-friendly
We pay special attention to the production of books: we choose sustainable and degradable materials, FSC-certified papers and take care for high quality printing and binding. We are always searching for local printers and manufacturers to cooperate.

HiBird Books was founded in 2018 by Hana Jesih & Peter Plantan. It is based in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
Hana Jesih is a graphic designer and an illustrator who loves to make mind-maps, visual shortcuts and is taller than Peter. She takes care of all visuals at HiBird Books. You can see her other design projects on her website.
Peter Plantan, on the other hand, is an architect who hates and loves everything at the same time and has a new wonderful creative idea each day. He is our product manager. He also works at the architectural office AtelierArhitekti.
